When giving is all we have…
One river gives..
It’s journey to the next.
We give because someone gave to us.
We give because nobody gave to us.
We give because giving has changed us.
We give because giving could have changed us.
We have been better for it,
We have been wounded by it—
Giving has many faces: It is loud and quiet,
Big, though small, diamond in wood-nails.
Its story is old, the plot worn and the pages too,
But we read this book, anyway, over and again:
Giving is, first and every time, hand to hand,
Mine to yours, yours to mine.
You gave me blue and I gave you yellow.
Together we are simple green. You gave me
What you did not have, and I gave you
What I had to give—together, we made
Something greater from the difference.

What we are thankful for is important, but what we are able to give others by being thankful for is even more important…
Generosity is something that comes in many forms — from a simple random act of kindness, to donating money or resources to help those in need. To be generous, is to be thankful, not for just what you receive but what it enables you to give. It’s being able to count your blessings on a regular basis —big or small and give thanks in all circumstances..
How can you get involved in giving back to your community?
There are so many important causes out there that always need volunteers to support the work they’re doing. Whether you’re passionate about advocacy, the environment or helping the homeless, you can find a valuable way to give back to your community. Many towns and cities have community center’s, which can be a great place to find opportunities to give back to the place you call home.
