Hôtel Les Roches Rouges, Saint-Raphaël, Côte d'Azur
Located in the Massif de L’Esterel mountain range, a national park studded with high peaks and peaceful turquoise blue calanques around every bend, a 10-minute drive from the unassuming port town of of Saint-Raphaël. It is named after the russet-coloured rocks found along this part of the French Riviera’s Corniche d’Or, on a stretch of coastline known for its red rocky cliffs, tiny coves, and quiet beaches.
Characterised by its 1950's architectural design the hotel is nestled between pine and tamarisk trees. The original structure dates back to the 1950s, sitting by the hotel’s picture windows, feels something like being on a beautiful vintage boat with a modernist interior.
It’s Provençal meets Parisian – low-slung sofas, cool art on the walls – with thoughtful touches like old novels next to the bed and vintage postcards for scribbling by the pool.
Throughout you’ll see hints of red in it’s rooms and suites, where both the colour scheme and materials echo the natural landscape. It’s an understated luxury, filled with simplicity and conviviality.
A place where the immensity of the sea, mild climate and an exquisite natural environment combine to create a truly exclusive, authentic and refined setting.
